Help me, it’s about cosplaying
Uhm I’m currently doing a research about the motivations of cosplayers in engaging in cosplying. I’m thinking of theories which I can use for my study framework. Any suggestions?

You could look into feelings of acceptance or escape.

Try looking up Carl Young psychological concept of “the shadow”. It deals with the human perception of how we see ourselves, how we are, and what we show the world. With it you could probably spin a thesis of how people find a form of escapism in dressing up as things we like, as well as simple human self-expression.

It’s Carl Jung btw
Hey just noticed your blogthing,
I have a bunch of friends who cos play because the enjoy pop culture but also they do a lot of it for charity, going to hospitals and visiting sick kids whilst dressed as spiderman makes them feel good about sharing what they love and helping the community.
I personally do it because 1: I like dressing up 2: I love sharing what I love and 3:to show people you can do whatever you like.
I am in a wheelchair and have cosplayed starwars characters, warhammer characters and everything, other disabled people or people of ethnic backgrounds that hadn’t dressed up as say, superman cos they were asian or something think it’s really great, no one should stop you enjoying things you love and sharing that with others
