I doubt this will really be read, but I am an idiot. I just spent the past thirty minutes talking to a girl that i've fallen for fairly hard, though she lives in another state and really has no interest in me. I don't really blame her, but *shrug* Lack of confidence not-withstanding, most men would agree I'm an idiot because I spent those thirty minutes helping her to figure out how she feels about a guy friend of hers that she kinda wants to day. By figure out, I mean actually trying to help... One comment

I’ve finally finished “Crime and Punishment” and…find myself, with this book, extremelely impressed by Dostoyevsky’s writing abilities. (I read in “Notes” in college and yet didn’t feel quite as moved.) I know that must sound pretty grossly naive, simple and pretentious all at once–this is of course FIDOR DOSTOYEVSKY we’re discussing–but I’m not the type of person to be so easily convinced by the assignment of defintive iconic literary brilliance by the amorphous ‘everyone.’... I posted this question in the forum so if you want to vote head over there and make your voice heard!! Okay, I've been doing alot of research lately trying to identify the better captain. Personally I've always been taken with Picard but at times I am swayed by Kirk. Admittedly, Spock was a way cooler sidekick than "#1" but Picard had Warf and he was just the s*&t. So what does everyone think...Kirk or Picard? No comments

So i guess this is my first entry. Hi all, i'm sure no one will read this. I just found this band called Cross the Lips of Grace. You wouldn't know it from the name, but they're an australian Deathcore band that got signed last summer and released an album in the fall. And i have to tell you, the album is damned ORGASMIC. I cant stop listening to it. An amazing mixture of technical purity and crushing brutality. And the vocals.. well, they're something different. They use a synth over the voice.... No comments

You'd think that in a high-stakes, highly-competitve, high-tech industry, if there was a saying on failure it would be "don't." And yet, in all the years I've spent leading up to and entering gaming tech, it has been quite the opposite. There are quite a few attitudes from academics and work that I can't help but bring with me to dating, so while they're on my mind, I figure I should be out with them and see if anyone bites. Why is it that birthdays relate some sense of uselessness? Why is it that the changing of the date to one specific day out of 365 causes so much internal reflection? I guess the bigger question is why is this reflection focused on the negatives instead of the positives? Today is my birthday...actually in 47 minutes it will be my birth minute and I can't help but think that I've done nothing with my life. Where I to die in my sleep tonight I would leave behind no grieving husband, no child that... 3 comments

So today's a pretty good day for me. My maternal grandmother died a few days ago (ok so not good in that respect). I didn't like her that much, and she wanted to go and she went peacefully in the hospital with all her kids and a few grandkids there, so she was probably pretty happy. So I'm not that upset. My mom and dad headed to St. Paul to sort out all her posessions and whatnot, so me and Erin are by ourselves til tomarrow. It's been a while since we've been alone in the house overnight,...
