Do you eat? I do. Want to do it in the same room?
I'm vaguely human, with a passion for creativity - be it music, visual arts, literature, drama, or just original thought. I'm awfully attracted to those who decide to make a career of it. It demands enthusiasm, discourages conformity (of which I've never been a fan), and the high of creation more than makes up for those hours of hair-shredding frustration before inspiration kicks in. My ideal career would be in film animation or linguistics. I love language, from the concept of communication right down to the curve of the humble comma.
I prefer detailed profiles, so I'll pack a lot in here - read or skip through it as you like.
I am a true introvert, and can be painfully shy... the two are, I think, unrelated. I'm comfortable with just one other or a few with whom I can share my imagination, or curl up with and discuss the whys and wherefores of the universe.
As a British humour addict, I've got an ever-growing collection of comedy series(es): shows on DVD, and novels by writers such as Pratchett, Milligan and Douglas Adams. Radio too. If I can find another Goons fan I'll elope with them to the border!
I do like to explore, hike, wander aimlessly. Getting thoroughly lost in the countryside is a hobby of mine, but too much of my life is spent in front of those things, computers.
I enjoy non-human company. When I meet a cat or dog I'll always introduce myself. I have an avid but entirely amateur and inexpert interest in natural history (arthropods in particular). I've a fairly disillusioned view of humanity; I'll reject with disgust any belief system that has some chain of being tailored to it.
My favourite people are those who go through life's dramas with tongue in cheek, give a healthy dose of scepticism, speak literally, laugh genuinely, like silence, and have an appreciation for the absurd. If any of these apply to you (regardless of age, sex or appearance) it'd be wonderful to meet you.
