Nerdy gal looking to meet nerdier folks

I can never find a way into mainstream topics of conversation, and have always felt most comfortable the company and conversation of other nerdy, eccentric, and even slightly off center folks. Being introverted and just having different subjects on my mind, socializing can be a dead end sometimes, and it can get lonely. So here I am, hoping to meet a few like-minded folks with either the same nerdy hobbies or entirely new ones. And, though I would love to meet some truly gifted geniuses, I won't presume (though I would be honored and very pleased). Please be in it for meaningful friendship and friendly banter--it's tough out there, but it's unkind to use this medium to stroke our own egos at the expense of others (and don't we get enough of that out there?) ; )
